National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Grants for Arts Projects: Theater
Supports the creation and development of theater projects, including those by playwrights, through grants awarded to organizations. Eligibility: Nonprofit organizations, units of state or local government, or federally recognized tribal communities or tribes.

McKnight Fellowship in Playwriting
Offers a $25,000 stipend, an additional $2,500 for play development workshops and professional expenses, and $1,400 in travel funds to mid-career playwrights residing in Minnesota Eligibility: Must have been continuous residents of Minnesota since at least January 9, 2024, and maintain residency during the fellowship year. Venturous Theater Fund's Venturous Capital Grants
Provides grants to fund the production of ambitious new plays that are bold in scale, form, or subject matter. Eligibility: Theaters producing new plays that are venturous in nature. fellowship year. Check website for more.

Many Voices Fellowship at the Playwrights' Center
Supports early-career Black playwrights, playwrights of color, and/or Indigenous playwrights with a $20,000 stipend, $3,000 in development support, and mentorship. Fellows engage in a year-long residency in Minnesota, benefiting from workshops and professional connections. Eligibility: Early-career Black playwrights, playwrights of color, and/or Indigenous playwrights who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Check website for more.
